Warrior and Artist...

In Hinduism people are divide in many casts, all belonged from 4 main casts. The Bramhini or the priests, the warrior, the artisan, and the sudra, or the servant. Out from this division there the Dalit, or Paria, the Outcast…

Every casts has a patron god or a goddess , and each cast has two faces like the coin, one side represent the moon and the other the sun. Each of this two part is divided in many other sub-casts, like the roots of a tree. Every root is formed by a groups of families, a little sub-cast where person are like brothers and sisters, respecting ancient blood bond.

Today I have a great privilege, my Indian friend Sangjv has tell me the history of his cast, ancient as the time, and he never tell to anyone before. So sit and be prepared to enter in a fantasy world…

There was a time in which men and god walk together on the land and everything was possible. There were groups of man belonging from the warrior cast called Parajya feared and fierce. They live on the pillage of wealthy villages and cities taking richness for give them to the poor.

Everything continued for many years till one great king, whom name is lost in the sand of time, decided that this cast must be erased, completely wipe out. A group of men went to the king as peace embassy; they promised that they would have done no more violent actions, but the king didn’t change his decision.

The men came back to their people worried so they decided to beg god for help. They ask to Brahma, the creator whom didn’t help them but he told to ask to Hingraj, the patron goddess of artisans. The goddess listens to the men and she said that the only way to avoid the king’s sentence was to change them forever.

The men look each others and they ask how but, most important thing, what they will do once they would be no more warrior. So the goddess gives to them an anvil and a hammer and teaches them the art of smithing precious metal. They add the “Soni”, which means “Smith” e Hingraj became their goddess patron. Their cast renamed in ParajyaSoni and the king had satisfied

But they don’t change completely you cannot extinguish a Volcano fire with a glass of water. Inside them remains forever the same fiery warrior spirit. They aren’t worried about any fights and if there are problems, they face them without fear; as much as now some villages are scared with the name ParajyaSoni. So be careful if you have a concern with a ParajyaSoni, Warrior and Artist…
